Peru's prime minister resigne

Yehude Simon (Reuters)Yehude Simon (Reuters)Spanish newspaper “El Pais” declared today that Yehude Simon (prime minister of Peru) resigned because of the violent clashes between security forces and Amazon tribes.

Earlier he apologized to indigenous leaders for the government's attempt to enforce decrees opening the rainforest to oil and gas exploration. The 5th of June clashes left at least 34 dead, including 23 police, near the northern town of Bagua, Peru. Other ministers are expected to step down or be fired by President Alan Garcia.

President of Peru Alan Garcia declared that next week there will be created new government.
